The past month...

WOAH! Let me just say, this past month has been b-u-s-y! I'm finally getting back into the swing of things now that summer (for those of us in school) is coming to an end. Here's just a little update of the past month in pictures. :)

Boyfriend and I celebrated our 6 year anniversery this month! We got massages and had dinner at the Beachcomber. Mmmmm! It was good! Look at that yummy dessert they gave us!

To the Right: Beach.

These were for mom's birthday this month! So yummy!
To the right: Homemade banana ice cream (thanks for the ice cream maker boyfriend!)
To the left: Homemade three-layer banana cake with chocolate frosting

This is me trying to get a picture with boyfriend while he kindly helps me bake (cracks the eggs and stirs) for mom's birthday :)

Enzoani

My amazing and talented friend Sasha invited me to the Enzoani runway show earlier this week and of course I went!

It was pretty amazing. The show was outdoors, we had wonderful seats, and the weather was great! I tried to take some decent photos to share, but they just do not do these dresses justice. They were absolutely beautiful!

Thanks Sash!

5 things I'd like to...

To find...

To make...

To buy...

To make my desk look like...

To dream about doing to my own home someday...

Every summer I create this mental list of all of the things I would like to do/get done.

Usually those things change. Haha. I can't help it, they just do.

For now, this is my list. I'll keep you updated on how that goes! :)

Film Photography

Dave and I love photography. In fact, we decided that when we get married our house will be filled with tons of our own photos. This is not because we think we are super great or anything (we definitely still have a lot to learn), but because we really just love the process!

Anyway, here are just a few photos from our last batch that we took with my Diana.

Washington State

Boyfriend and I took a trip to Washington state to visit my cousin (more like sister), Casey, and her husband Danny. Dave made for an excellent travel buddy and was a trooper during our flight (I'm terrified of flying). He let me squeeze the life out of his hand, and for that I am grateful. Good job boyfriend!

Our summer vacation was spent in jackets, scarves, and boots, but it couldn't of been better. We were just about 5 miles south of Canada. It was gorgeous. We had a two hour drive from the airport to their house, but it was the most beautiful drive I have ever had.

Dave and Danny discovered this thing called geocaching. If you don't know what that is, look it up, it is kind of like a scavenger hunt throughout the country. We spent most of our free time geocaching, and by we I mean Dave and Danny. Casey and I just followed along. :)

Just the beauty of Washington and being with some of my favorite people in the world would have been enough to make this trip amazing. The food though....well it took things to the next level. We actually ate so much that it would take an entire other post to list everything we had, but above are a couple pictures of my favorites.

We went to a restaurant on the coast and I had a dungeness crab and lobster pizza, which was by far, the best pizza I have ever had. My mouth still waters when I think about it. Casey and I made some chicken wings as an appetizer to one of our dinners. They were gooooood! Grandma's recipes never fail.

Thanks Casey and Danny!

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

It has been quite a while since I have updated my dear blog and that is because...well...life got crazy. Now, life getting crazy is not a reason I would typically stop blogging for, but a lot of things have been in motion and changing.

To be honest, another reason I have been on hiatus is because I have been trying to figure out exactly what I want this blog to be about. I have been trying to give it a specific genre and I have come to realize that that just won't work for me and my life. :) There are so many amazing things going on all the time that I would be crazy not to share them with you!

Anyway, from this point forward, this blog is going to be all inclusive. Whatever makes me happy will be on here. I plan to post daily and I hope you can find something interesting, entertaining, inspiring, or something to just plain look at when you have nothing better to do.

With that said, here are a couple photos from my casual 4th of July weekend spent with a fire pit, boyfriend, and my best friend (who also happens to be boyfriend's sister...it's not as weird as you think)!

Pretty Little Cakes

I decided to bake a cake for a bridal shower last weekend. White was the main color and I did not want to fall into the typical vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. Thus, I found this absolutely delicious recipe for a banana cake! Instead of using the cream cheese frosting, I went for vanilla and sprinkled on white chocolate shavings that I made. I ventured to good ol' Martha Stewart for inspiration on something decorative to put on top and came across pine needles and pine cones. Brilliant for winter! Thanks Martha!

Something Sweet

Readers, I must share something amazing with you. Apple Cheddar Scones. Yep, they are delicious. I came across this recipe as I was loyally skimming through Smitten Kitchen's long list of tasty foods. As soon as I saw this recipe I jumped on it, and I've been hooked ever since. I encourage you to take a Sunday morning to relax, bake some warm scones, and snuggle in. After all, winter is the season for baking!
